The Morning After

Well, my friends, I'm afraid I have some bad news about the 12 hour 'Ax Max - Coley for US Senate' campaign that so many of you got behind in the waning hours of the 2008 election. It appears that our concerted effort did not create the blip on the radar that we were looking for - all major media outlets continue to report only on the percentages received by Max and Kelleher. I'll be watching the Secretary of State's web site for the next several days to see if final results are posted that include our candidate.

I'd like to thank you all for the vision, faith, and - dare I say - humor that you brought to our valiant effort. Don't forget - Jon Tester is up for re-election in 2012. Maybe we'll launch the campaign on November 2nd next time?

Well - it turns out that our campaign was doomed from the start. In Montana, you must file a Notice of Intent before the 15th of the previous month to qualify as a write-in candidate. Therefore, our votes were not recognized. It's unfortunate, but I'm sure we made a few Gallatin County voting officials scratch their heads when they tallied up the votes. And I guess that's worth something!
