Lamar Canyon - Yellowstone National Park

I took this shot on a recent trip to the family cabin. I've driven past the Lamar Canyon several times, but never stopped to take pics. It's hard to conceive that you might be in a hurry when driving through Yellowstone, but it seems like we always are. On this trip, however, I stopped and captured a few frames.

It's a pretty steep slope down to the river - coupled with the fact that it was raining, descending to the river bank was a little exciting. I would have preferred a beautiful blue sky, but the overcast sky did give the colors a little more depth. Shot with my 14-45mm at 22mm, f7 for 1/30sec.
