Cottonwood - Yellowstone National Park (Lamar Valley)

This is one of my favorite trees to shoot in the Lamar Valley. I've taken this shot at the height of golden fall color, and on Christmas Day I decided to capture an image of this lone tree in the dead of winter. Not entirely happy with the color version or a standard black and white treatment, I decided to try this effect. Seems appropriate for winter. Shot with my Olympus E500 at f11 for 1/20 sec.

Would be fun to put together a collection of this old guy in all four seasons
