Bridgers Panoramic from Gootch Hill

Here's the latest in my continuing quest for the perfect panoramic shot of the Bridgers near Bozeman, Montana. I took a series of 12 separate (portrait-oriented) shots and stitched them using CS4.

The resulting file is a beast - the 72dpi version I exported from LightRoom is still over 6MB.

While I like the vantage point, this spot lacks the visual interest in the foreground that makes it a true winner. But that's OK - I've got another spot up my sleeve that I think is going to be pretty awesome...

Shot with my Olympus E30 and Zuiko 50-200mm lens for 1/60sec at f/11, ISO 100.

It's a good shot. Your PS/matching edges work is excellent :) I might recommend tinkering with contrast -- something I struggle with when I do distant landscape shots. There aren't any dark darks or light lights in this photo. This photo has a nice, soft quality to it, but adding a little depth to it might give it the visual interest you're looking for. Just a thought :)

Nice shot. I've noticed a definite lack of imaginative photographs of the Bridgers, so it's nice to see someone working towards it. What time of day was this?

Thanks for the comment, Adrienne. I generated this pano off .jpgs, but have the matching RAW files that would give me more flexibility to play with contrast.
Steve: I shot this in the evening, about 7.30pm or so.
